Even More Tips for Healthy Skin

Use Sunscreen

With the hottest months of the year just around the corner, it’s more important than ever to use sunscreen whenever you’ll be spending more than 20 to 30 minutes outdoors. Use sunscreen with natural ingredients to avoid clogging your pores, and look for something that is at least SPF 30. You should also try to find a product with broad-spectrum protection, which protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays. The former causes wrinkles, lines, and other signs of premature aging, while the latter are one of the most common causes of skin cancer.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating is the process of removing dry and dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. It’s one of the most important elements you can add to your skin care routine, and when done properly, it can help you achieve soft and smooth skin. Find an all-natural exfoliating product that you can use twice each week — we’re confident that you’ll notice a difference!

Stop Smoking

Smoking is one of the most detrimental things you can do to your body. In addition to increasing your risk of developing cancer, heart disease, and many other serious health conditions, smoking depletes your skin of oxygen and contributes to premature aging. Smoking also damages the body’s ability to produce collagen and elastin, the substances that give your skin a rejuvenated and healthy appearance. In short, do your long-term health a favor and stop smoking as soon as possible.

Moisturize

In our previous post, we noted that you should make a habit of drinking plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. In addition to this, you should also find a natural moisturizer that you can apply to your skin as needed. Coconut oil is a great natural alternative to traditional cosmetic moisturizers!
